A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum

Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart. Directed by Rick Pessagno and Tammy Pessagno.

Inspired by the farces of ancient Roman playwright Plautus, a slave named Pseudolus attempts to win his freedom by helping his young master woo the girl next door. Classic elements of farce, puns, the slamming of doors, cases of mistaken identity and satirical comments on social class highlight this bawdy musical. The title derives from the line that vaudeville comedians often used to begin a story: "A funny thing happened on the way to the theater."
-Rated PG

+Doors Open 7:00 PM
+Cost: Sec. A: $30, Sec. B: $25, Sec. C: $20 - $10, UNLV Students in Section C (Limit 1)
