Transit(ion) Trilogy: Emigration Transformation

Transit(ion) Trilogy: Emigration Transformation tells the epic story of the exodus of the Eastern European Jews in the late 1800s, their immigration to America, early life in New York's lower east side, and their descendants' artistic contributions to mainstream American culture through ballet, music, video and narrative.

The narrative tracks this progression through excerpts of text from letters, poems, newspaper clippings and novels. The music flows through decades - opening in klezmer and ending in rap - and the movement style ranges from folk dance to contemporary ballet.

Premiered in New York and Copenhagen in the summer of 2011.
